1) I have just uploaded a set of slides on clustering.
2) The deadline for the project is the exam day, regardless of when the exam is.
Currently, the exam is scheduled on Saturday, so the project deadline is Saturday. If the exam is postponed, the project deadline will be the new exam date.
3) As agreed, assignment 3 is worth 2 marks. You are supposed to write two questions about clustering and answer them. You will be graded based on how good the questions are as well as how good the answers are. Questions that require solving a problem or doing some analysis or point out things that we have not directly mentioned in class are favored over questions that are pure recall.
An example of a pure recall question:
How are distances between clusters computed in hierarchical single-link clustering?
Each question is worth 1 mark and you will guarantee at least 0.5 marks by submitting any two questions.
The deadline for this assignment is Saturday 10/1/2014 (Even if the exam is postponed). The questions and answers should be sent to me by email before the Saturday midnight.
